A Canyonville man was hospitalized after a Saturday night accident in Roseburg.

A Roseburg Police report said at 6:10 p.m. the 81-year old man was driving his pickup in the 2000 block of Northeast Stephens Street when his vehicle struck two-poles by the crosswalk, shearing them off. During contact with the driver, an officer said it was apparent that he was having a medical issue.

He was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition at last check, according to a hospital spokesperson. His vehicle was towed from the scene.
