Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a man for an alleged strangulation incident Saturday morning.

A DCSO report said at approximately 8:45 a.m. a 64-year old Riddle man said he had been assaulted by a female in the 400 block of Gravel Pit Lane. During an investigation, the deputy discovered marks on the woman’s neck. The woman said the man had choked her for around ten minutes. She also had marks on her face and back from being pulled out of a vehicle.

The man was charged with strangulation and 4th-degree assault. He was held without bail.
