A Salem man was taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle wreck on Thursday night.

A Roseburg Police report said at 6:30 p.m. a pickup was traveling west on Northeast Garden Valley Boulevard approaching Northeast Stephens Street when the brakes apparently failed, causing the vehicle to run into the back of an SUV. The passenger in the vehicle hit was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center for complaints of back pain.

The report said there was evidence at the scene to support the first driver’s statement regarding her vehicle’s brakes. The pickup was towed due to the brake issue. The SUV was able to be driven from the scene.
