The Coquille Tribal Community Fund grant cycle is now open

Tribal Communications Director Tim Novotny said the fund is looking to continue its mission of “providing assistance to organizations that make lasting contributions to the communities we serve”.

Novotny said the Coquille Indian Tribe established its Community Fund to share the proceeds of The Mill Casino-Hotel with organizations that make a clear difference for daily life in the Coos Bay area and throughout southwestern Oregon.

The fund awards grants to organizations in Coos, Curry, Douglas, Jackson and Lane counties. Overall, since being established by the Coquille Tribal Council in 2001, the fund has distributed over $8.1 million.

Submitted applications must be received by November 17th. Projects will be considered in the areas of arts & culture, education, health, public safety, historical preservation, environment and problem gaming.

The Tribal Fund accepts grant applications each fall. Learn more by going to: www.coquilletribe.org or call administrator Julia Willis at 541-756-0904 extension 1254.
