Roseburg Police cited two people for depositing trash within 100 yards of a waterway and for prohibited camping near Fir Grove School on Monday.

An RPD report said at 11:00 a.m. officers responded after receiving multiple complaints about a large encampment at the southeast corner of the green steel bridge between Stewart Park and Fir Grove Park. The camp was along the riverbank near the 1600 block of West Harvard Avenue. Officers reportedly found a large amount of trash scattered over an area about 50 feet by 20 feet.

The officers contacted a 38-year old man and 31-year old woman inside their tent and issued the citations.
