Roseburg Police cited 5 people for prohibited camping in 4 separate contacts Sunday night.

An RPD report said at around 9:50 p.m. a 48-year old woman and a 41-year old man were found in a prohibited camping area at Charles Gardiner Park in the 2600 block of Northwest Edenbower Boulevard. Both had tents set up and had previously been advised of camping regulations.

At 10:15 p.m. an officer saw a 19-year old woman camping in a tent under the bathroom pavilion at Stewart Park in the 2000 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard. The officer checked the Time Place Manner map and determined that the woman was camping in a prohibited area.

At 10:20 p.m. an officer saw a 43-year old woman, also camping in a tent under the bathroom pavilion. The officer determined that this woman was in a prohibited camping area as well.

At 10:45 p.m. an officer contacted a 54-year old in her tent at the Stewart Park restroom, which is in the prohibited camping zone. The woman admitted she knew about the ordinance, but said she needed a place for her tent.

All were released after being cited.
