The 8th annual Zonta Dignity Drive is continuing through November 17th.
A Zonta Club of Roseburg release said victims of domestic violence are often forced to flee their home with little more than the clothes they are wearing. To help restore dignity to women in this situation, contributions of new bras, panties and sanitary products are being accepted.
Dignity Drive drop sites are purple boxes located at the YMCA of Douglas County, Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews, and Sherm’s Thunderbird Market, all on Northwest Stewart Parkway. Garments can also be dropped off at the front desk of the Roseburg Public Library on Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard.
The Dignity Drive is part of Zonta’s Handup program. It works in cooperation with Peace at Home Advocacy Center, Adapt/Crossroads, Safe Haven and other agencies to help women in life changing transitions.
