HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY, ARREST MADE

Detectives are investigating a homicide which occurred in the Green District late Monday night and  have made an arrest.

Lieutenant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said shortly after 11:00 p.m. dispatchers received a call saying a man who appeared to be deceased was lying in a driveway in the 100 block of Speedway Road. Deputies arrived on the scene and determined that the man was deceased as a result of a gunshot wound. The victim was identified as 24-year old Ronnie Keith James Crabtree of Roseburg.

O’Dell said that during the course of the investigation, evidence was developed which led to the apprehension and arrest of 24-year old Jacob Taylor Robinson of Winston. Robinson was charged with second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.

The Douglas County Major Crimes Team is continuing the investigation, which is being led by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. The team consists of investigators from the Sheriff’s Office, Roseburg Police Department and Oregon State Police working in consultation with the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office.
