Roseburg Police jailed a man following a reported shoplifting incident on Monday.

An RPD report said at 12:30 p.m. the 34-year old allegedly stole $189 worth of merchandise from a business in the 1300 block of Northeast Stephens Street and then ran from the store. He was contacted nearby and taken into custody on a charge of second-degree theft. Bail was set at $5,000.
