Fly Fishing Veterans and Umpqua Valley Fly Fishers will have the 2023 Umpqua Fly Tying & Casting Festival this Saturday at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.

The event will run from 9:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m. with fly tyers participating from California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. Organizer Doug Myers said several are nationally and internationally recognized for their craftsmanship and skills. The public will be able to participate and learn how to tie their first fly and take part in fly casting demonstrations throughout the day.

Myers said there will be a silent auction, vendors and food trucks onsite. Admission is a non-perishable food item that will be donated to the local food banks. Get more information by emailing: info@flyfishingveterans.org.
