The driver was hurt in a Dillard area wreck Thursday afternoon.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 4:30 p.m. the motorist was heading north on Highway 99 South when he apparently fell asleep and drove off the road. His vehicle ran into a sign and then into a tree. The man sustained head and leg injuries but refused an ambulance.

His vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver went to CHI Mercy Medical Center via a private vehicle.
