A motorcyclist eluded a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputy in the Canyonville area on Thursday afternoon.

A DCSO report said just before 3:40 p.m. the deputy attempted to stop the rider near the intersection of Third Street and Main Street. The motorcyclist took off at a high rate of speed. The bike turned onto Fifth Street heading towards Interstate 5 and was gone by the time the deputy got through traffic.

No additional information was released regarding the incident.
