A warm weekend wrapped up with a record breaking high for the date in the Umpqua Valley on Sunday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the mercury reached 88 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport. The previous record for October 8th was 86 degrees, set in 1934 and hit again in 2015.

It got to 87 degrees in Roseburg on Friday and Saturday, but no records for the date were set.

Monday brings a big change in the region with a 100 percent chance of rain. Roseburg could see up to an inch and a half of rain total by Wednesday. Highs are slated to be in the 60s. Some warming is expected for Thursday and Friday.
