Its likely the last blast of heat for 2023 in the Umpqua Valley.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that near record high temperatures for the date are possible Friday and Saturday with slight cooling on Sunday. The mercury is slated to reach near 90 degrees Friday and near 87 degrees Saturday at the Roseburg Regional Airport. That’s just a few degrees under record highs for the dates. Sunday is forecast to be near 84 degrees.
Monday the weather changes with a jolt. A 90 percent chance of rain is expected with a high in the mid to upper 60s. Between a quarter and a half inch of precipitation is possible Monday with more expected Tuesday and Wednesday. Conditions will moderate starting Thursday but forecasters say more hot weather is unlikely for the balance of the year.
