Roseburg Police cited a man for an alleged littering incident at the Duck Pond Tuesday morning.

An RPD report said at 8:50 a.m. an officer went to the interior area of the park in the 1000 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard to post any camps which might have been there, because the area is off limits for camping. Officers contacted a 32-year old in his camp, which was set up on the bank of Newton Creek.

The report said the camp was sprawling over an area about 40 feet by 20 feet and contained at least two large truckloads of garbage. The man was cited and released at the scene for depositing trash within 100 yards of a waterway. He was instructed to clean up the mess.
