The Douglas Forest Protective Association has tentatively scheduled prescribed pasture burns to start this week.

Public Information Officer Rachel Pope said burning is scheduled to begin Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. near Goodrich Highway in the Metz Hill area. Pope said smoke will be visible from Elk Road, Hogan Road and Interstate 5.

Two burns are tentatively scheduled for Wednesday. The first burn is slated to start at 12:00 p.m. near Singleton Road. Smoke will be visible from Black Top Hill, Glide, North Bank Road, and Highway 138 East. Pope said the second burn is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. near North Bank road. Smoke will be visible from North Bank Road, Wilbur, and Whistlers Bend.
