An SUV struck a vehicle combination on the shoulder of Interstate 5 southbound on Wednesday morning.

An Oregon State Police report said just before 7:30 a.m. the driver failed to see that a pickup and a trailer were broken down on the right shoulder of the roadway in the Metz Hill area. Her SUV drifted onto the shoulder and ran directly into the back of the trailer which was parked at the time of the crash.

The SUV was towed from the scene. The OSP report does not indicate whether any citations were issued
