Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged prior strangulation and harassment incident Wednesday night.

An RPD report said officers contacted the 33-year old and a person with him in the parking lot of a business in the 700 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard at 11:30 p.m. Earlier that day, officers contacted the second person at a residence in the 2500 block of Northeast Stephens Street, after she claimed that the man had strangled her.

Based on information from the earlier report, officers placed the man in custody and charged him with strangulation and harassment. He was detained without bail.
