Staff with the Oregon State University Extension Service are inviting gardeners and farmers to learn about soil analysis on Saturday, October 14th.

The Soil Analysis 101 workshop will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Discovery Garden next to River Forks Park, northwest of Roseburg.

During this outdoor class, participants will learn how to take soil samples using randomized representative methodology. They will also learn the importance of soil sampling, when to take samples and what labs to send soils to. Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss soil sample results and what they mean.

The field-based workshop is free. Carpooling is encouraged as parking is limited.
