Containment on the Tyee Ridge Complex northeast of Roseburg is now at 76 percent.

Its listed at 7,939 acres. 766 people are assigned to the fire.

An update from Northwest Incident Management Team 3 said while the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has cancelled all evacuation notices for the complex, closures on Bureau of Land Management lands remain in place.

Late Friday afternoon, part of the southwest portion of the Cougar Creek Fire pushed outside the control lines into some of the unburned fuels. The slopover was contained by utilizing helicopters for bucket drops and hand crews to reestablish control lines. Overnight crews worked to mop up the area. Day shift operations will complete that work.

Saturday’s weather will be moderating from previous days, with slightly cooler temperatures and increased humidity. Firefighters will continue mop up across the fire, as well as backhaul of firefighting hose and equipment where it is no longer needed, Repair work is also occurring in portions of the fire.

Fire season is still active. Members of the public should actively practice fire prevention. That means following established regulations that are in place for everyone’s safety.
