A motorcyclist was arrested in an alleged DUII incident Monday night.
An Oregon State Police report said at 9:30 p.m. a trooper saw a motorcycle on Old Highway 99 North near Del Rio Road being operated with no lights on. The rider did not have a helmet on. After stopping the rider, it was determined that there was a warrant for his arrest and that he was operating the motorcycle with a license that was suspended at the misdemeanor level.
40-year old Matthew Cooksey was placed in handcuffs but reportedly became uncooperative. A deputy with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office assisted the trooper in getting Cooksey into the patrol vehicle. The man showed signs of impairment but allegedly refused all tests.
Cooksey was charged with DUII, two counts of driving while suspended, and for two warrants. After arraignment, bail was set at $5,000.
