Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis has announced his re-election campaign as he seeks another term in office.

In a release issued Friday night, Loomis said, “I am thrilled to announce that I will be running for a second term as Douglas County Clerk in the upcoming 2024 election cycle. It has been an absolute honor to serve Douglas County since my appointment in October 2019 and election in 2020, and I am excited to continue this work for another term”.

Loomis said he believes that his character reflects the values of the county he serves. Loomis said, “I am committed to working with honesty, integrity, courage, humility, diplomacy, pragmatism and always with a citizen-oriented focus”. Loomis said he will continue to keep an open-door policy and listen to the concerns and suggestions of all citizens in the county.

Loomis said he will strive to look for ways to perform the job more efficiently or better instead of, “the way its always been done”. Loomis said he is excited about the work his department is doing to modernize document recording and archiving, improve transparency, and make elections more secure and accessible.

The release concluded by saying, “I am grateful for the trust and support of Douglas County citizens, and I look forward to the opportunity to continue serving you as your County Clerk”.

The office of county clerk is one of the positions that will be voted on in May 2024 Primary Election.
