AIR QUALITY ALERT THROUGH 2:00 P.M. TUESDAY

September 4, 2023 5:50 a.m.

An air quality alert remains in effect through 2:00 p.m. Tuesday for central Douglas County and other areas near the Tyee Ridge Complex.

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has issued an Air Pollution Advisory for parts of Douglas and Coos counties including the cities of Roseburg, Sutherlin, Umpqua, and Green along with Coos Bay, North Bend and Coquille.

Wildfires burning in the region combined with forecast conditions will cause air quality levels to fluctuate and could be at unhealthy levels. Smoke levels can change rapidly depending on the weather. People at risk include infants and young children, people with heart or lung disease, older adults and those who are pregnant.

Current air quality conditions are available at: https://aqi.oregon.gov/
