AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT THROUGH TUESDAY AT 2:00 P.M.

September 3, 2023 5:00 a.m.

An Air Quality Alert is in effect through Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. for parts of Douglas and Coos counties.

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has issued an Air Pollution Advisory for areas near the Tyee Ridge Complex.

The Advisory area includes Roseburg, Sutherlin, Umpqua, Green, Coos Bay, North Bend, and Coquille.

Wildfires burning in the region combined with forecasts conditions will cause air quality levels to fluctuate and could be at unhealthy levels.

Smoke levels can change rapidly depending on the weather. People at risk include infants and young children, people with heart of lung disease, older adults and those who are pregnant.
