ROSEBURG GETS RAIN, COOL HIGH TEMPERATURE

Roseburg received the first significant rain in over two months, and had the coolest high temperature in over three months, on Thursday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the Roseburg Regional Airport registered .18 inches of rain on Thursday. The last significant moisture was June 18th when the airport saw .14 inches of rain.

Thursday the airport had a high temperature of only 64 degrees. Forecasters said that is 20 degrees below normal. It was also the lowest high Roseburg had since May 23rd when the mercury got to 69 degrees at the airport. Temperatures since that date had been in the 70s or above until Thursday.

A chance of precipitation with highs in the mid-70s to just above 80 degrees are forecast through the holiday weekend for the Umpqua Valley.
