Roseburg Police cited two men who were allegedly drinking in public in recent incidents.

An RPD report said Friday night just before 7:30 p.m. officers contacted a man who was allegedly riding his bicycle in the middle of Southeast Stephens Street near Southeast Spring Avenue, while drinking a beer. During the contact the officers realized the man was intoxicated. The suspect was asked to perform standard field sobriety tests to which he declined. He was taken in custody for riding his bicycle impaired. He was taken to jail, where he was cited and released for DUII-alcohol.

Saturday afternoon just after 1:30 p.m. officers saw a 46-year old walking down the street drinking from a can of beer in the 700 block of Southeast Stephens Street. Upon contact, the man allegedly tried to hide the drink. The beverage was seized and he was cited for a city ordinance violation.
