Douglas County received ninety-six lightning strikes during a storm that started late Thursday night but precipitation was sparse.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that much of the lightning hit the area between 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Only .003   inch of rain was recorded at the Roseburg Regional Airport between 9:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday at 6:00 a.m.

Areas of smoke with a high just over 90 degrees are forecast for Friday.
