A Red Flag Warning is in effect through 5:00 a.m. Friday for the Umpqua Basin and the south-central Oregon coast.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said there is a higher threat of lightning ignited wild fires. Any fires that develop have a high probability of spreading rapidly. Abundant lightning can also ignite new fires and strain firefighting resources.

Wind gusts up to thirty-five miles per hour are possible.
