Officers with the Roseburg Police Department are participating in a traffic safety campaign focusing on DUII enforcement through September.

Sergeant Daniel Allen said there are additional officers working shifts to specifically target DUII drivers.

Tips for drivers include:

*Even one drink can impair judgement and increase the risk of driving drunk, or worse, the risk of having a crash while driving

*Those who will be drinking should plan not to be driving. Designate a sober driver before a party begins. Other options include calling a taxi, phoning a sober friend or using public transportation

*If an impaired driver is seen on the road, contact law enforcement.

Allen said the enforcement campaign was made possible through a grant received from Oregon Impact and the Oregon Department of Transportation
