The cooler center at the Roseburg Senior Center will be closed after Wednesday.

A City of Roseburg release said originally the plan was to stay open through Thursday, but with the forecast now calling for lower temperatures, the decision was made to close sooner

The center was used by about forty guests on Monday and thirty guests on Tuesday, with at least four dogs, a cat and a duck. City officials want to thank the senior center for stepping up to fill the need. The United Community Action Network provided funding for portable toilets.

Local residents and nonprofits provided needed donations of snacks and water. The Roseburg Dream Center donated fifteen men’s shirts for male clients who arrived without shirts on.

Volunteers from the senior center, Adapt and Onward Roseburg have provided support at the facility.
