The Bedrock Fire, burning in the Willamette National Forest, is now over 26,000 acres.

An update from Northwest Interagency Incident Management Team 12 said firefighters are constructing control lines along the western edge of the fire, clearing and improving roads, and building dozer line. Helicopters have been flying water buckets to cool the fire while crews on the ground continue preparations to defend homes in Big Fall Creek. Firefighters are continuing to hold the fire within established lines on the northern, eastern, and southern portions of the fire. Firefighters are patrolling around the fire perimeter, mopping up, securing and adding depth to control lines.

A community meeting about both the Bedrock and Salmon fires will be held Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. with fire managers and agency representatives. It will be held at the Pleasant Hill School Community Center.
