Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a man following alleged criminal mischief on Monday night.
A DCSO report said at 8:30 p.m. the 34-year old from Roseburg was allegedly extremely intoxicated when he approached a woman who was standing on her property in the 18000 block of North Bank Road in the Glide area. The suspect suddenly broke the top off the woman’s wood fence. The woman ran back and got another witness who said the man became aggressive and broke the rest of the fence to go after them.
Once the man broke the fence, he allegedly just stumbled around and wasn’t making much sense. Eventually the man went back on his side of the fence. A witness said the suspect was very intoxicated and unpredictable.
When a deputy contacted the man, the suspect reportedly grabbed the deputy and clinched his fist. Deputies detained the man so it could be determined what happened.
The man was charged with second-degree counts of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. He was detained on $5,000 bail.
