Roseburg Police charged a man with fourth-degree assault on Wednesday.

An RPD report said the 38-year old was taken into custody at 12:00 p.m. after investigating a disturbance that occurred on Tuesday. During the incident, the suspect allegedly threw a victim to the ground, causing substantial pain to her ribs. The victim was taken to CHI Mercy Medical Center to be evaluated. The suspect was taken into custody in the 200 block of Southeast Pine Street.

Bail was set at $6,250.
