Umpqua Plein Air Deadline August 11th

In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:

Umpqua Valley Arts Thirteenth Annual Umpqua Plein Air is happening soon and the deadline to register is Friday.

The event celebrates the landscapes of the Umpqua Valley, from breathtaking emerald rivers to its abundant farmlands.

Each summer, UVA offers artists the opportunity to connect with nature and other creative people at their plein air “paint-out” event. After nearly a week of painting in the great outdoors, artists display and sell their work in the UVA galleries, pieces are juried, judged and eligible to receive purchase awards. The event schedule includes:

*August 17th – Virtual Orientation

*August 21st – Artist Check-in and Social Brunch at UV Arts at 9:00 a.m.

*August 21st- Umpqua Plein Air 2023 Paint Out

*August 26th- Juror Demonstration and Guided Paint Out from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

*August 26th – Purchase Award Reception, Umpqua Plein Air Opening Reception and Awards from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The artwork will be displayed in the galleries through October 27th. UVA is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
