Roseburg Police charged a man with fourth-degree assault on Monday.

An RPD report said on Sunday, a victim was allegedly struck several times in the face by his neighbor. Officers attempted to contact the neighbor, who would not answer the door.

On Monday at 8:00 a.m. the officer saw a vehicle associated with the residence, in the 500 block of Southeast Stephens Street and stopped it. The neighbor, a 44-year old man, was taken into custody for the alleged assault. The man was detained on $6,250 bail. He was released later in the day.
