A Roseburg man was jailed by Roseburg Police for alleged criminal mischief Saturday evening.

An RPD report said at 10:00 p.m. 43-year old Scott Ellis returned to Walmart in the 2100 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway after being previously trespassed. Ellis allegedly ripped the mirror off a victim’s vehicle, and then ran toward the wooded area to the south of the main parking lot.

The suspect was found in that area, but reportedly ran from officers when they told him that he was under arrest. He was eventually detained. Ellis was charged with second-degree counts of criminal mischief and criminal trespass and for third-degree escape. He was detained on $5,000 bail.
