A motorcyclist was taken to the hospital following a single vehicle wreck on Thursday night.

An Oregon State Police report said at 6:25 p.m. troopers were dispatched to Highway 138E about nineteen miles east of Glide. Troopers arrived on scene as the rider was being loaded into an ambulance by medical personnel. His motorcycle had already been moved and stood up by witnesses.

The driver said he was going between fifty and sixty miles per hour when he lost control and crashed. He was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center with serious injuries. The motorcycle had heavy front-end damage and was towed. Witnesses said the motorcycle had just passed them prior to the accident and confirmed that the bike was traveling between fifty and sixty miles per hour. The rider thought he might have hit some gravel or road debris which caused him to crash.
