Friday afternoon, the Oregon State Fire Marshal mobilized two task forces to Linn County to help with the emerging Priceboro Fire near Harrisburg.
Crews were sent through Immediate Response, a tool the OSFM uses to send additional firefighters and equipment outside of a conflagration. Harrisburg Fire and Rescue and the Oregon Department of Forestry are in unified command and on scene actively fighting the fire.
The Priceboro Fire began at approximately 4:00 p.m. Friday and was estimated at one hundred acres just before 6:00 p.m. The fire is growing quickly and OSFM has additional resources standing by to bolster additional response as needed. Level 3 evacuation notices are in place through the Linn County Sheriff’s Office. The smoke is visible from Interstate Five, but no highway closures exist currently.
