Roseburg Police cited a man after a littering incident on Wednesday morning.

An RPD report said at 8:30 a.m. an officer contacted the 54-year old sitting on a park bench with a large pile of trash behind him, at Charles Gardiner Park in the 2600 block of Northwest Edenbower Boulevard.

The pile of trash was about ten feet from the bank of Newton Creek. The suspect admitted the pile of trash was his. He stated that he planned on eventually cleaning it up. The man was released after being cited for depositing trash within one hundred yards of a waterway.
