DFPA RESPONDS TO VEHICLE AND GRASS FIRE IN THE OAKLAND AREA

July 26, 2023 4:10 a.m.

On Tuesday, crews with the Douglas Forest Protective Association and North Douglas County Fire & EMS responded to a large smoke column near the 300 block of Carol Court.

A DFPA post said upon arrival, it was found that a vehicle and 1/100th of an acre of surrounding grass was on fire. Due to the quick response and an aggressive initial attack by both agencies, the fire was quickly extinguished.

DFPA said the incident should serve as a reminder of why vehicles are restricted from traveling on unapproved roads during moderate, high and extreme fire danger levels.
