Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a man on the charges of driving while suspended and third-degree escape on Monday.

A DCSO report said at 11:45 a.m. deputies responded to the report of a disturbance in the 9000 block of Loon Lake Road in the Reedsport area. Deputies learned that the 19-year old had been allegedly throwing things and screaming because he had not had any methamphetamine for a few days and was mad at a family member.

Dispatch said the man’s license was suspended at the misdemeanor level. Witnesses reported the man had left the residence and had just driven back prior to the arrival of the deputies.

When the deputy told the suspect that he was under arrest, the man took off running. The deputy quickly caught up to him and took him into custody at taser point. He was detained without bail.
