Roseburg Police jailed a man for resisting arrest on Monday.

An RPD report said at 1:15 p.m. officers responded to the 700 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard regarding a sleeping transient. Upon arrival, officers recognized the 35-year old and noted an open beer in front of him. The suspect’s parole officer was contacted and authorized a detainer. When the officer attempted to take the man into custody, he allegedly resisted arrest and had to be taken to the ground.

The man was charged with resisting arrest and for a parole violation. He was detained on $5,000 bail.
