In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:
The Heartless Bastards play at Music on the Half Shell Tuesday night.
The group was formed at the turn of the century by Erika Wennerstrom in Cincinnati, Ohio. Their sound was inspired by the likes of Joan Jett, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty. Of the several albums they have put out, the 2012 release “Arrow” got the most attention. It reached #2 on the Billboard Independent Albums Chart. Their latest release, “A Beautiful Life” came out in 2021.
Half Shell concerts are held at 7:00 p.m. at the Nichol’s Band Shell in Roseburg’s Stewart Park. Those attending can put out a chair or blanket early. Food trucks and other vendors will have a variety of food and beverages on sale. Those attending can also bring their own meal, along with wine or beer.
