Two people were cited for an alleged littering incident on Thursday.

A Roseburg Police report said at 9:20 a.m. the 42-year old man and 37-year old woman had their camp set up on the north side of Newton Creek, on the unmaintained portion of Charles Gardiner Park in the 2600 block of Northwest Edenbower Boulevard.

The camp reportedly covered an area of approximately thirty feet by twenty feet and contained three tents, as well as a large pile of items, with some of them covered by tarps. There was an estimated three to four truckloads of debris and trash scattered around the camp site.

The pair were cited for depositing trash within one hundred yards of a waterway. Both were issued trash bags and instructed to clean up their mess. The camp was also posted for cleanup.
