Sutherlin Police jailed a man after an alleged eluding incident Friday evening.

An SPD report said just after 6:00 p.m. the 62-year old seen driving with a misdemeanor suspended license. The suspect allegedly led police on a low speed chase through Sutherlin on West and East Central Avenue. Upon stopping, the man refused to exit the vehicle. A window had to be broken on the vehicle along with the threat of canine deployment to gain compliance. The man was charged with attempting to elude police in a vehicle and for driving while suspended-misdemeanor. He was held without bail.
