The Douglas Forest Protective Association is conducting live fire training for the next several weeks, as weather permits.

Public Information Officer Rachel Pope said training will take place near North Bank Road, north of Roseburg, and on North Gazely Road in the Canyonville area. Pope said smoke may be visible from Roseburg, Winchester, Wilbur, Glide, Interstate Five and Highway 138 for the North Bank Road training. For the North Gazely Road training, smoke may be seen near Gazely Road, Tiller Trail Highway and Interstate Five.

Trainings will begin at around 11:00 a.m. each day.
