A Roseburg man was jailed for alleged prior meat theft on Wednesday.

A Roseburg Police report said on June 22nd an employee of Fred Meyer on Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard said that a man in a blue Dodge pickup has stolen a T-bone steak and Pepsi from the store.

At 11:00 p.m. officers stopped the suspect vehicle in the 5200 block of Highway 138 East for an unrelated incident and recognized the driver as the suspect from the theft.

The 46-year was charged with third-degree theft. He was detained on $1,250 bail.
