SLURRY SEAL ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT UNDERWAY

June 27, 2023 3:20 a.m.

Douglas County Public Works Department, along with their contractor Pave Northwest Inc, have begun work applying a slurry sealant to three separate locations on county roads, just outside of Roseburg.

A County release said the project is expected to continue through Thursday.

Impacted roads include three areas:

*Near Umpqua Community College off of College Road on Songbird Court, Live Oak Court, Chinkapin Court and North River Drive

*Off Garden Valley Road past the Roseburg Country Club and near the North Umpqua River

*Off Garden Valley Road near Melrose Road

During the slurry seal application process, designated streets in the area will be closed to on street parking and some may have temporary driving restrictions in place. “No parking” signs will be placed on affected streets and roads up to forty-eight hours prior to work being conducted in that area.

Slurry seal work is typically performed from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. depending on weather and material availability.
