A Roseburg man was jailed by Roseburg Police for an alleged menacing incident on Friday.

An RPD report said at 9:30 a.m. 63-year old Bruce Abercrombie allegedly threatened to stab and kill to two family members, in the 3100 block of West Normandy Avenue. One of the victims contacted another family member who called 911 for help.

The report said there was probable cause to arrest Abercrombie for a separate violence incident on Thursday after the man had allegedly threatened to kill a different family member. In the recent past the suspect has reportedly attacked an officer and threatened neighbors and officers with a knife.

When officers arrived Friday morning, a victim was on the floor just inside the house, and Abercrombie was allegedly pulling her away from the door. Officers opened the door and were able to get the victim outside. Officers attempted to arrest the suspect for the previous case, but the man tried to close the door to prevent being detained.

Abercrombie was tased twice and taken into custody without further incident. One victim had suffered injuries to her back and was checked by medics on the scene before being taken to a Urgent Care facility.

Abercrombie was charged with fourth-degree assault, first-degree criminal mistreatment, coercion, two counts of menacing, and for interfering with making a police report. He was detained without bail.
