Two people were taken to the hospital after two separate accidents on Interstate Five southbound near the Harvard Avenue exit on Sunday.
An Oregon State Police report said at 10:05 a.m. the driver of a sedan was in the left lane when she lost control of her vehicle. The roadway was wet at the time and her vehicle struck the concrete barrier before coming to rest facing northbound in the right southbound lane. The roof of the sedan was removed by fire personnel to extricate the driver from the vehicle. She was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center. Her vehicle was removed from the scene.
Just after 1:30 p.m. troopers were sent to a crash on the southbound freeway on ramp. An OSP report said the pickup was traveling southbound and merging on the freeway when the driver lost control and hit the concrete barrier damaging both the passenger side’s tires. The driver was transported to Mercy for minor injuries. The vehicle was towed. Staff with the Oregon Department of Transportation and the Roseburg Fire Department assisted with traffic control.
